Transforming Dream Villages initiative of Swades Foundation with Unified Data Management

Background

The Swades Foundation operates with the single-minded focus of empowering rural India. Their vision is rural empowerment through best practices, modern technology and values. With a mission to uplift rural communities, providing necessities like individual toilets, home-delivered clean water, healthcare, and joyful education, our client initiated their ‘Dream Village’ program. However, challenges arose, including managing scattered data from different sources, hampering effective delivery. Coordinating 34 programs, collecting data, and streamlining processes also proved complex and time-consuming. Our M&E Solutions proved competent in handling their every challenge.

Our Tech Solutions

With our ‘tech for good’, we collaborated with Swades Foundation and created and implemented a holistic Survey platform that streamlined their entire data management process, from design of survey to deployment, monitoring and staging the data for multi-layer analysis. This in turn substantially improved their program deliveries. Our Survey platform included:

Unified Data Architecture

Uniform and interconnected system of databases, which created an integrated ecosystem for locations, households, and beneficiaries with unique IDs. The unified data system eliminated gaps, duplication, and inefficiencies, leading to smoother program management.

Mobile App for Field Data Capture

A mobile app, that worked both in online and offline mode, captured location-based demography, household needs assessment, and field demand for the 34 programs. The mobile app improved data accuracy and speed in capturing location-based data and demand, expediting approval processes.

Integrated Platform

An integrated platform allowed stakeholders to access data with a single login, enabling informed decision-making for project management, finance, and approvals. The integrated platform enabled stakeholders to access data, facilitating real-time, data-driven decision-making across various departments.

Workflow for Approval

Customizable, multi-layer approvals settings - M&E, program, finance, and management - were integrated into the process. Because the mobile app improved accuracy and speed in capturing location-based data, it helped expedite the approval processes

Analytics

Integration with Superset analytics enabled customized, query-driven, easy-to-make dashboards. This in-turn helped our client to take informed decisions and improve their program-impact
